Youth Talent Development Programme
The New Zealand Football Talent Development Programme (TDP) looks to provide an aligned and co-ordinated approach to the development of high potential youth footballers (aged 13-17). It aims to maximise player development by providing a challenging and structured programme for players. To run a TDP, clubs must obtain a license by meeting a number of New Zealand Football standards. These and more TDP information can be found here. Wellington United is one of several clubs in Wellington that have an approved TDP license.
Currently, the club is running an Under 14 and Under 16 Girls TDP.

These are full year programmes running from February through to November. Each team has both a professional head coach and assistant coach. Both teams play in Saturday Mixed competitions to provide a more competitive environment for the players to learn and develop.
We strive to create a fun and enjoyable environment for every player and value the importance of building friendships through football. Our Girls Only TDP looks to challenge players and provide opportunities to learn and improve. The Programme has a combination of both on and off the field sessions to help with player development. On field training sessions follow a tailored curriculum. Off field sessions include one on one feedback sessions, injury prevention, strength and conditioning, video analysis and various workshops.
