TRIALS 2018
PLAYER TRIALS (Mixed Grade 9-13)
We encourage all players to attend the trials, so we can consider opportunities for players across the two clubs. WU and BNU are working together to run player trials (Mixed Grade 9-13).
Players wanting to be considered for a graded team (including all premier teams) should try to attend the main trial date for their age grade and must attend at least one trial (or at least be seen by selectors) to be considered.
We realise some players may wish to only be considered for social teams within their home club. Please do let us know if this is the case for your player.
Players must wear football boots and shin pads.
Players must be registered with either WU or BNU to trial. Link to registration: https://mycomet-oceania.analyticom.de/en/
Trials are planned for the following days:

SPORTS GROUND LOCATIONS
SECOND TRIAL: For players we need to see again AND those that could not make the main trial. All Mixed Grades will trial on Saturday 3 March at Te Whaea (times are TBC)
ALTERNATIVE TRIAL DATES: In the case of serious inclement weather, we will need to use our back up field bookings (on Saturday 3 March, Sunday 4 March and Saturday 10 March). Any alternative dates/times will be identified after any cancellation(s).
Players are required to sign in (to receive trial numbers and bibs) and take part in their Grade warm-up with coaches 30 minutes before the trial begins.
Trials are not needed for players in First Kicks or Fun Football grades (7th-8th grade) and are optional for 9th grades & up.
- All players in each grade are encouraged to trial, so the selectors can get a look at as many players as possible, to place players in appropriate teams.
- Players who want to be in selected/more competitive teams must trial. If your player cannot attend the allocated trial dates, please contact: wellingtonunitedjuniors@gmail.com to see if alternative trial arrangements can be made.
- Players should trial in their correct age grade. That is the child’s age on their birthday this calendar year (2018). (Eg. players that have already had their 9th birthday earlier in 2018, and children that are currently 8 but will have their 9th birthday later in 2018, will all be in 9th grade and will trial in 9th grade).
- Shin-pads (UNDER socks)
- Football boots
- Warm clothing (named)
- Full drink bottle (named)
We encourage ALL players to trial as it helps us to get an overview of all the players in each grade and makes sorting the teams much easier.
