DIAMONDS EARN AWARD NOMINATIONS

Wellington United Diamonds continue to bask in the glory of winning the Kate Sheppard Cup.
On the day they won the cup, becoming the first team from Wellington to ever win the trophy, they were also announced as Capital Football's Team of the Year and Maika Ruyter Hooley was named Capital Football Coach of the Year, while Player of the Match Emma Main won Capital Football's goal of the year.

They have now also been named as finalists in the Team of the Year category at the Wellington Sports Awards and coach Maika Ruyter-Hooley has been named as a finalist in the coach of the year category.

And it doesn't stop there, hot on the heals of the Wellington Sports Awards finalists announcement came the New Zealand Football Awards finalists where the Diamonds received nominations on the following categories
Team of the Year - Wellington United Diamonds
Women's Coach of the Year - Maika Ruyter-Hooley
Domestic Women's Player of the Year - Emma Main
The NZF awards are selected by the combination of a panel and public vote
