ROBERTSON EARNS FERNS CALL UP

Wellington United striker, Michaela Robertson, has been selected for the New Zealand Football Ferns tour to the Algarve Cup in Portugal.
Robertson, who achieved the outstanding double milestone for Diamonds of 100 appearances and 100 goals last season (she currently has 103 goals from 105 games) has previously represented New Zealand at U20 level and has been involved with the Football Ferns Development Programme (FFDP) for the last couple of years.
Football Ferns coach, Tom Sermani said "We have been impressed with Mickey's attitude, enthusiasm and performance over the past year. We had attempted to bring her into the squad on a couple of previous occasions but unfortunately she had to pull out due to injury. So we're very excited that she is able to e part of our Algarve Cup campaign"
The Algarve Cup is an eight team tournament that includes some of the heavyweights of Women's football such as Germany, Norway and Italy. New Zealand, currently ranked 23rd in the world start the tournament with a game against 17th ranked Belgium on March 5th at 7am NZT.
An appearance in Portugal will make Robertson Wellington United's 29th full international and the third female international, joining Maggie Jenkins (NZ) and Roni Lipi (Samoa) on the honours board.
