At Wellington United we are seeking a Men’s First Team Head Coach to lead the team in Capital 2 for the 2025 season and assist with the continued development of our men’s youth pathway.

Purpose of the Position
The purpose of this position is to lead our Men’s 1st team in a way that supports the Clubs ambition to provide quality development (both sporting and individual) to all involved; including the wider playing base, the staff and our player pathway.

You will work with the club to deliver the key responsibilities and initiatives as outlined below, and contribute to a successful and sustainable player pathway as a part of our Club goals within our Strategic and Operational Plans.

Key Responsibilities
Men's First Team Coaching and Leadership
Oversee and lead the Retention and Recruitment for the Men’s 1st Team.
- Plan and lead 2x weekly training sessions for the Men’s 1st Team.
- Manage all aspects of match days, including tactical preparation, squad selection, and game management.
- Foster a positive, competitive, and inclusive family environment.
- Identify (or assist with the identification of) promising youth players within the club’s pathway for development opportunities.
- Support youth players’ integration into senior football by ensuring appropriate training and playing experiences (both through Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams).
- Collaborate with other coaches to ensure a streamlined player pathway is developed.
- Contribute to the club’s broader football strategy, including but not limited to, involvement in planning around player pathways.
- Assist with off-field football-related duties as directed by the committee.
- Promote and encourage attendance at club events and functions; which helps to develop both team and club culture.
- Previous Coaching experience at a similar or higher level.
- C Licence is preferable (or working towards).
- Strong Leadership, Communication and Management Skills.
