Wellington United Diamonds Women's Central League / Women's National League
The Wellington United Diamonds are the top women's team within Wellington United AFC and sit at the top of a strong a female football pathway. We’ve built a proud history over many years, shaped by great players, dedicated coaches, committed volunteers, and a club culture that genuinely values people. While results matter, what matters most is creating an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and part of the United family.

Our Pathway | Wellington United offers one of the strongest female football pathways in the region. From junior football through to the National League, players are supported to progress through teams at the right pace, to play in the right environment at the right time. Juniors → Youth → Seniors → Sapphires → Diamonds → National League With six senior women’s teams and a strong youth pathway, players have real opportunities to grow, develop, and progress. We believe development is not linear, and we work hard to support players wherever they are in their journey.
Our Football Direction | The Diamonds programme is led by our Director of Football, Guillermo Schiltenwolf, whose passion for the game and belief in people sit at the heart of our programme. Guille is second to none in his ability to read the game, his tactical understanding, and his natural ability to bring people together. He has a unique way of building strong footballing habits, shaping positive team cultures, and balancing success with long-term player development. Players consistently speak of feeling supported, challenged, and valued under his leadership — and that is exactly the environment we strive to create.
Our History | Over many years, both of our Tier 1 Teams (the Diamonds and Sapphires) have consistently performed at the top end of their respective leagues:
7 Central League titles in the last 10 years!! (2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2024, 2025!
Kate Sheppard Cup Champions in 2021 (still the only Wellington team to lift the prestigious trophy!
3x National League qualifications in 2023, 2024 and 2025 (the only Wellington team to qualify for each edition since it has moved Club-based!)
4 Premier League titles in the last 10 years!! (2017, 2022, 2023, and 2024)
