Wellington United Diamonds

Wellington United Diamonds
Women's W League (nee Women's Central League)

At Wellington United our women's side of the club continues to grow from strength to strength every year and we are proud to be one of the strongest women's clubs in New Zealand with FIVE fantastic womens teams playing the beautiful game 😊

We are club that doesn’t shy away from investing in our women’s teams and we are certainly reaping the fruits of this investment. Our top women's team, the Diamonds, has become a force to be reckoned with picking up league championship in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020 and now 2021 as well!!

2021 is shaping up to be a pretty special year for the Diamonds, having picked up the Kelly Cup, the W-League title and having made the semi-finals of the Kate Sheppard Cup as well! They will be giving it their all to make the final of the Kate Sheppard Cup in the coming weeks; with friends and family looking to make the most of the home semi-final advantage!

Under the fantastic guidance of Maika Ruyter-Hooley, the Diamonds play attractive, attacking and uncompromising football. No player is above the team; they are a family who work hard for the players around them.

They are a pleasure to follow week in week out and we are extremely proud of the team. They deserve every success that they continue to achieve both as a team and as team members.

We like to acknowledge the team behind the scenes! Maika is ably assisted by our Director of Football (and previous Diamonds Head Coach) Guillermo Schiltenwolf and former Diamonds player Katie Barrott. Managing the team is former Diamonds player Alice Cooke Harvie.
